Last night a group of AIA Salem’s Emerging Professionals and Young Architects met to discuss the direction of the newly developed EP/YA group. There were discussions of future events and activities including the development of a resource library for those studying for the ARE.
In case you missed it, we’ll be meeting again in February but in the meantime we wanted to get us started in a fun dynamic way, so we are having a name and logo contest! The rules and requirements are listed below.
If you are an Associate member of AIA Salem or a professional member that has been licensed less than 10 years then you are eligible to compete. The first place prize is $100.
Submissions are due by 5pm February 8th. Winners will be announced at the March 8th meeting.
Logo and Brand Design Contest Rules:
1. All Logos must be original.
2. The brand name must somehow show that the group is for Young Architects and Associate members, it can be abbreviated, use initials or be spelled out.
3. EP&YA may be used for the brand, and it or another original name, must be part of the logo.
4. For ease of future printing, the design must be suitable for rendition in a monochrome version (black, grays and whites).
5. The design needs to be submitted in two forms 1) Printed 2) Electronically on CD/DVD 6. Submissions must be dropped off or postmarked to address below, by the February 2011 meeting of EP&YA.
6. Only Associate members and Young Architects of the AIA Salem are eligible to receive awards. Awards for winning brands and logos will be given, First Place is $100, (may be divided into $50 for a logo and $50 for a brand) and then second and third place.
7. Design submission can not have been used previously in public
8. Design must be able to be manipulated (in regard to size).
9. Winners will be announced at the March meeting.
10. Multiple Submissions are allowed.
Submission Requirements (Electronic and Printed)
Electronic Submittals must be: EPS, JPG, TIF or PSD in addition to PDF
Electronic entry must be of at least 300 dpi resolution
Printed entry must be reduced to fit within 1.5”x 1.5” invisible box and two times the size 3”x3”invisible box
