We have been thrilled with the breadth and depth of results from this year’s unique collaboration with the University of Oregon’s Sustainable Cities Initiative (SCI) – which pairs real-world City priorities with faculty teaching and student initiative to create far-reaching impacts in our community. You can learn more about the results at www.cityofsalem.net/scisalem or by participating in one of the upcoming events this June and July. These fresh ideas and new ways of looking at recurring issues will affect our communications, park and transportation planning, economic development activities and development along our waterfront, in downtown and West Salem, and at Salem Housing Authority properties for years to come.

Thank you to the students and faculty for embracing Salem and adopting so many critical projects to this community.
