The Architects in Schools Program has concluded for the year, with 75 fourth graders hopefully having a better grasp on what architects do. Starting back in May, Blake Bural and Leah McMillan began with introducing topics such as scale, square footage, clients and basic architectural shapes and then quickly moved into building and designing. The program was made successful by three wonderful teachers at Cummings Elementary and the Architectural Foundation of Oregon. AiS happens every year in Salem, IF there are enough architects and interns willing to donate their time. Please consider being part of the program next year.
