AIA Salem received the following information on registration discounts for our members.
If you are interested in attending the Green Building Conference on November 3rd read the details below and check out Earth Advantage’s Website.
I wanted to extend a personal invitation to the AIA Salem’s members to this year’s Green Day Forum, Earth Advantage Institute’s annual green building conference on Nov. 3 at the Gerding Theater in Portland. This year’s event is quite different and inspiring — we’re focusing on green building business models that help create community and financial stability. We’ll be hearing from “Champions of the Triple Bottom Line” who will offer an innovative perspective on how the industry can meet “sustainability” goals in all senses of the word.
I’d also like to provide AIA Salem members with a partner discount, enabling them to register for the full day, including lunch and a networking reception, for $99.00 instead of the regular $125. Simply have them register at the “Earth Advantage Professional” rate. We can also provide a group discount of just $89.00 for parties of 5 or more association members, or employees of the same organization. There is also a student rate, with valid ID. If you could make this information available to your membership and colleagues, I’d be very grateful. A description is below.
If you know of organizations who might like to exhibit or sponsor the event, please have them contact me. We still have a few spaces remaining.
Best Regards,
Tom Breunig

Join us as we hear “Champions of the Triple Bottom Line” discuss all that green building CAN be. Learn about market models that help communities and the environment while providing financial stability.
Keynote Nancy Murray will describe the Builders of Hope retrofit model that saves and moves homes scheduled for demolition, and provides workforce training opportunities.
Mark Edlen of Gerding Edlen will detail how the firm’s community focus and innovative financing models enabled it to thrive during the recession.
Jeff Zotara of the Green Schoolhouse Series will discuss how successful public private partnerships with large corporations are allowing communities to build high-performance, environmentally sustainable, LEED-Platinum Green Schoolhouses at Title 1, low-income public schools.
Stephen Aiguier of Portland’s Green Hammer will illustrate how the company’s approach to green building, employee training, and home performance allows it to expand in a slower economy.
A multi-disciplinary panel will provide an overview of how PCUN, a labor union for Latino farmworkers, is building the first Passive House office building in the US in Woodburn, and is engaging the Latino population in sustainability efforts.
We also expect US Secretary of Housing and Urban Development Shaun Donovan to provide an overview of the government efforts on affordable housing (this is still subject to confirmation, however)
Join us for an empowering day of discussion and networking!
We look forward to seeing you!
